Kānehūnāmoku, a 29ft, double hulled, sailing canoe, is a hands-on, dynamic, and living classroom for students of all ages. Based at Kaʻalaea in Kāneʻohe Bay, students become crew members and learn all aspects of sailing the canoe, including maritime skills, non-instrumental navigation, elemental observations, teamwork and communication.

Hoa Mau
Hoa Mau is an adult intern program designed to teach the participants about traditional voyaging culture and provides experience teaching the subject matter to the students within our partner schools. The goal of Hoa Mau is to train voyagers and promote community volunteerism as well as skilled teachers ready to fill growing voids in our schools and communities. |
E Holo Mau
E Holo Mau is our school and community based outreach programing which focuses on the perpetuation of Hawaiian voyaging culture through hands-on learning in the classroom and aboard the canoe, Kānehūnāmoku. E Holo Mau provides services to a wide variety of populations of all ages, including public, charter, and private schools from grades pre-K to post secondary schools. |
