E Mau Mai ka ʻIke a Mau Loa E
Education Curriculum Resource Page

Welcome!

Kānehūnāmoku Voyaging Academy's hope for this education curriculum resource page is to share knowledge about waʻa with our community to ensure the work of those who came before is perpetuated (E mau mai ka ike a mau loa e). This resource page provides waʻa curriculum that can be taught across grade-levels and content areas, while following standards-based curriculum requirements in the DOE. Waʻa, as the core driving concept of the curriculum, gives students an opportunity to excel in a project and place based atmosphere that emphasizes hands on learning in non-instrument navigation, sailing, way-finding and the maritime industry of Hawaii.

Below you will find the curriculum that is currently available digitally.  Mahalo for your patience as we continue to add to this site!

Parts Of The Waʻa
