Kānehūnāmoku, a 29ft, double hulled, sailing canoe, is a hands-on, dynamic, and living classroom for students of all ages. Based at Kaʻalaea in Kāneʻohe Bay, students become crew members and learn all aspects of sailing the canoe, including maritime skills, non-instrumental navigation, elemental observations, teamwork and communication.

Crew Member Job Purpose: The Crew will assist the Captain and Program Coordinator in teaching sailing and safety techniques to students both on the water and in classrooms and to assist in implementing curriculum as needed. Project Instructor / Teacher
Job Purpose: The Project Instructor is the lead instructor for KVA programs. The Project Instructor organizes the logistics and curriculum necessary to attain the goals of the program, conducts outreach, provides project instruction, and records data showing project results.
