Other requirements 

FOR CLASSES WHO WILL BE TAKING PART IN WA'A DAYS AT KUALOA REGIONAL PARK

These are requirements for classes that will be receiving classroom visits AND going out to the wa'a at Kualoa Regional Park.  Forms for class visits and wa'a days have been combined for these classes to reduce the paperwork.

Due before your visit to kualoa:

1.  Waiver Form:  Please download, print, and have parents or guardians fill out one form for each child.  If parents or others will be boarding the canoe, also have them complete a separate form for themselves.

2. We understand that as a teacher you are very busy but if you could please return the form to us 2 weeks ahead of time so that we can ensure that all are parties are accounted for we would appreciate it. You can scan and email completed waivers or mail them to us at:

Due on the day of your visit to Kualoa:

3. Park Permit or Indemnification for Kualoa Regional Park:  
  • If you are a private organization you must apply for a park permit
  • Public (DOE and University of Hawaii Programs) and charter schools must also apply for a park permit and be indemnified

If you require assistance in attaining either a park permit or indemnification, please use our contact form or reply directly to your registration confirmation email to let us know.

Items to bring

The following is a list of suggested items to bring with you if you will be attending programs aboard the canoe. 

For each student, you may need:
  • towel
  • clothes & shoes that can get wet
  • extra change of clothes
  • sun protection (sunscreen, hat, etc.)
  • water bottle
  • lunch
  • hair ties (for long hair)


Directions to Meeting Place at Kualoa

Use these directions to find the exact place in Kualoa Regional Park where we meet to hold classes that involved boarding and sailing the canoe.
1.  Use google maps to get to Kualoa Regional Park

2.  When you arrive at Kualoa Regional Park, drive to the end of the paved road.  

3.  At the end of the paved road, there will be a paved turn-about with a dirt road leading off to the right.  Drive down the dirt road until you see several community buildings and a house.  

4.  You may park in this area between the community buildings and house.  We will be meeting in between the parking area and the beach.  The class and canoe will be visible from this area.
